Overview

Heather is an experienced Psychologist with AHPRA endorsement in Clinical and Counselling Psychology and a PBA approved Supervisor. She has held general registration as a Psychologist since 1995. Her experience includes the Department of Defence, Community Health, local GP Medical Centres and Private Practice.
She uses a person-centred approach, and creates a safe, respectful, and non-judgemental relationship with the people she works with. Heather encourages her clients to be curious, to explore their concerns and difficulties, recognise their strengths and skills, find meaning, and to develop a growth mindset. She uses an integrative approach of evidence based therapies within a person-centred framework. She values authenticity and connectedness, self-development, awareness, and growth.
Heather draws on a range of treatment modalities to tailor her approach to meet each client’s needs. These include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Solution Focussed Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, body-centred (Somatic and Polyvagal) approaches, and attachment based perspectives. Her relational style and approach to therapy enable her to work alongside clients with varied mental health issues and concerns. Her interests include grief and loss, post traumatic stress, attachment trauma and disruption, impact of military service and separation from the military, psychopharmacology and alternative treatments, neurobiology and neuropsychology, personality disorders, and well-being and resilience.
Heather owns and operates a private practice the goal of which is for clinicians, administrative staff, and clients to develop genuine and compassionate connections, and grow and thrive in their relationships and their life.
