Verity completed her studies at Curtin University in Western Australia whilst working as a sessional academic. Her PhD research focused on the development of empathy and the psychopathic personality.
Since completing her studies, Verity has worked across a range of therapeutic settings in both the public and private sector, including youth mental health NGO’s, private practice and, most recently managing the psychology team at a private hospital specialising in dual diagnosis.
Verity has an interest in working with gender and sexually diverse people and is experienced working with complex trauma, addiction, personality and mood disorders, depression, anxiety, ADHD and autism. Through her previous work with the Department of Justice, Verity is also skilled with complex forensic assessments and clinical interventions.
Verity’s authentic, person-centred ability to connect with clients is informed by an interpersonal therapeutic approach and existentialist philosophy. As an AHPRA Board-Approved Supervisor, Verity also aims to provide a warm and open space which facilitates learning and development for future psychologists.
